Lately I've been increasingly interested in bare-knuckle boxing. There's an amazing history behind the sport, and it's primal, barebones quality speaks to an Uber-masculinity that's currently being devalued and demonized by social mores and Neo-feminists. This new Youtube channel by the BKF Fight Club features a lot of traditional, refereed bareknuckle fights in small squared circles of hay. Even if boxing isn't normally your thing, give some of these fights a watch or two--and you'll see that a lot of the elements of submission wrestling that arouses our interest so much can also be found here.

No gloves, face shots, hair pulling, blood. What's not to like?

Mixed Martial Arts was just gaining in popularity during the 1990's, so a lot of the fights during this time period weren't all that technical, and much more primal. These are the kinds of fights I like watching most.
